23rd Wheel of Fate [Written/Action]

[Now that everyone seems to be back to normal and ν-13's had a little bit of time to readjust again... there's something she'd been meaning to do for a while. Around noon, she'll be leaving the apartment to head to the western lake, leaving a note about where she's heading on the table in her room. Until she's actually out of the village, she'll be attempting to avoid running anyone as much as possible. This doesn't change once she reaches the forest; in fact, once she's there, she seems more on guard than before, as if on the lookout for someone or something that might try to attack her.

When she finally reaches the lake, she'll sit down at the edge of the lake and take out her journal, writing a short, filtered message.]

...Tsubaki? Do you think we can continue our discussion now?

[She'll stay there at the lake until long after nightfall, so if one should choose to go there, they might spot the silver-haired Murakumo idling around, blankly gazing out at the water.

...Even after everything that's been happening these past few months, she still likes this area.]

I told you of those rather special runes though, like the one that boy used to have. I have one of those also, and it is rather stubborn about ensuring that I remain alive and has an annoying tendency to force me to teleport if I'm about to receive a mortal blow.

And then add to that that it makes me immortal, well it can be rather tedious to deal with. [And while he says that, he's going to hold her tightly, it's actually something he dislikes speaking of, because the sheer amount of what it is suppose to take to actually kill him is amazing, that is part of why he wishes to destroy his world by plunging it into chaos, so he can actually finally have the peace in death that he should have had centuries ago.]

[...Ah. So that's the reason he didn't think that anyone would be able to kill him, then? It makes sense, but... with the way he's wording his explanation, it doesn't sound as if he's particularly happy about the rune doing that. But why not? Having something that essentially keeps him from dying as long as it's functioning properly doesn't seem like a bad thing to her at all...

Aside from that, there's one other thing that's bothering her about his explanation, though.]

...Why didn't you mention that before? [It doesn't sound as if there's a reason not to mention it...]

[She'd understand if she'd lived a few centuries as a demon. Truly, there is a good reason why most older True Rune bearers aren't the most sane of people. They just grow tired of life and the fact that they don't age while everyone around them does.] I prefer not to. It allows people to underestimate me if they don't know that I've lived centuries.

[She might if that were the case, but as it is, she hasn't exactly lived for a particularly long time, so... That's not really something she can relate to right now, unfortunately.

...In response to that comment, though, she's putting up a rather vibrant smile once again.]

But... You really didn't have to keep that hidden from me. We're friends, aren't we? [Well... they're definitely not enemies, at least. Besides, she's known about his age for a while now, just not that rune's other effect. And there's really no point in hiding that from her as far as she can tell; if anything, knowing about it earlier would've led to her worrying a bit less.]

[Yeah, when one is young, they want to live forever. When it's gotten to the point where you've been there and done that for far too long, it grows tedious quickly.]

No one has ever called me a friend of theirs before, and the ones who summon me know what skills I have before they do so. [And learn the hard way that no human can fully control a demon of his power.]

[Yeah. Living forever really doesn't seem like a bad thing to her, but then again, she is the younger one of the two. If she'd actually know what it's like to be alive for that long, her opinion might be vastly different from her current one, to say the least.]

Um, well... It's true, isn't it? [As far as she knows, they certainly match the definition of the term friends, anyway. They are on good terms with each other, so...]

If you were in my world and others of my kind saw us together, they'd think I am your mate and I belong to you for the sole purpose of procreation of strong offspring. [Which is very true, in fact, that's what he considers her, the idea of friendship just evades one like him. Of course the fact that she hasn't had any offspring yet would be considered very strange.]

[...That really wasn't the kind of comment she wanted to hear in response to her question.]

But... That's really not it at all. [When she said that they're friends, she meant it, and only that. Procreation isn't exactly something that crossed her mind before. So hearing that's what people from his world would assume about the two of them... well, it kind of bothers her a bit, to say the least.]

Then what do you even mean by friends? I never counted you as being a servant of mine and that's the only other relationship that exists between demons.

[He's speaking of demons, not the humans. Albert and Caesar probably think Nu is a girlfriend if anything (and find it odd that Yuber would even show a liking to a female).]

[She's... not a demon, though. She's not really human per se, but she's not a demon, either. ...Considering what demons in her world are like, that's probably a good thing.]

Um, well... We get along and we help each other, right? So... that means we're friends. [...She thinks, anyway. To be honest, she's not that certain about the definition of that term, but... from what she knows, it definitely applies to the two of them.]

[He knows she isn't, but since he doesn't know WTF she is, and she's not human, he counts her as a demon, even if it is just more because he thinks saying she's human would be insulting and demon is the only decent sort of creature he knows of that has her level of intelligence.]

That's all there is to being friends? Humans sure make it sound more complicated than that.

[Honestly, it's hard to know for sure what the Murakumos are supposed to be. On one hand, they're clones of a human, but on the other... well, nobody actually refers to them as that, and the terms people do use to refer to them are frankly a lot more derogatory than anything else could be. From her point of view, it's probably a good thing that he doesn't know what she is.]

Yeah, that's all there is to it. [...She thinks, anyway. It doesn't seem to be any more complicated than that from what she knows about the term, at least.]

[If she were to even try and explain, he'd likely get confused. Technology barely exists in his world, and things like clones definitely do not.] Humans make things so complicated.

[Well, the clone thing is something she herself isn't aware of. She does know about the other bit, though, and that's really not something she plans to explain anytime soon, especially since she doesn't know the specifics.

...That comment, though? That actually earns him a playful giggle from the silver-haired Murakumo.]

Yeah, they really do~ [And more often than not, they seem to do so for absolutely no reason, too. It... kind of baffles her, frankly.]

And even do things that inhibit their ability to survive. It's no wonder they are such pathetic creatures.

[Rather than verbally respond, she just nods this time.

...After a moment, however, she'll speak up again; while she does so, however, she simply stares out at the lake.]

Um... Can I ask you something?

[He's looking curiously at her wondering what she wants to ask.] You can just ask. If I'm able to answer, I have no reason to keep things from you.

[She, on the other hand, is still staring at the lake. If he's paying attention, though, he might notice that her expression is... awfully blank right now.]

...You don't like staying inside that building, right? [It's really just a harmless inquiry - she does still remember him commenting that he didn't like being stuck there back after that mess with Moro, after all. And at this point, the desert should hopefully be safe again, considering it's been quite some time since then, so...]

[Well, then there was being mallynapped, then the crazy stuff and dying, just one thing after another.] The buildings are made for humans and represent order. I hate order. [Which basically means yes.]

[Of course, but none of these should affect how safe the desert is right now. Moro's... a different story.]

Um... Well... You don't have to stay there, you know. [She'd prefer it if he did, of course, but considering he's able to teleport, it's not like it'd be particularly hard for them to meet up even if he decided to stay in the desert again.]

[Well, there was the fact that his mallynapping meant he had to sleep and eat like a human, desert has little food and shelter. Then after his death, well couldn't teleport and it would have been like when Moro was after him, not a good plan, hide among humans for that time.]

I'll do as I wish as far as that is concerned. [Which means he's likely to start being seen in areas besides the village to give the impression back that it's impossible to predict where a human will be safe.]

[Point taken.]

...I really don't mind if you stay, but... [He did basically say that he doesn't like staying there. Not to mention that considering there are at least three people who know what apartment she's staying in, there's a definite risk of someone possibly showing up while he's there. That's... not really something she wants to mention right now, though, so instead of finishing her sentence, she simply trails off.]

[But his sticking around when he doesn't need to, and doesn't even like to be among humans just shows how much he likes her company.] But what?

Um, well... It'd be bad if someone found out that you're staying in the village, right?

[There's one person who could easily figure that out if she ever realizes that he's the one ν-13 dragged along to the bar some time ago, after all, and if that happened... well, it'd be troublesome, to say the least.]

Would it? It's a very well known fact that I can teleport, not that that helps any of the humans.

[Basically, he's not concerned. Even if they know where to find him, it's not like his location can't change within moments. And it's not like the humans can catch him off guard ever.]
