[Those passing through the plaza today might find themselves noticing something rather... odd placed near the fountain.

Apparently, someone - presumably the Malnosso - has decided to place a treasure chest next to the fountain. And not just any: this particular treasure chest seems to be large enough that it could hold quite the large amount of treasure. In fact, it's big enough that it wouldn't be hard for an adult to hide in there.

Those who decide to investigate the chest might notice something a little peculiar about it, however. Not only does it seem to lack a lock, but if one listens closely while near it, they might just be able to pick up the faint sound of breathing coming from inside the chest, as if whatever were in there is, in fact, alive... and likely asleep, judging from how slow the breathing is.

Maybe someone should investigate? Of course, whatever or whoever is within the chest could be dangerous, so perhaps it'd be best to tread with caution if one decides to check just what is contained in it.]

[ooc: Nu herself is not currently affected by the event, but since treasure does tend to appear in some tales, feel free to play around with that, if you'd like!]

[Saying that there's someone inside might be more accurate... though the sleeping girl inside is carrying a black sling bag with her, so it's not completely off, either.

But that said, she's not waking up just yet - unless Albert outright tries to wake her, it's likely that it'll take her a few more moments to rouse from her sleep. It won't be that long, given that she's a light sleeper, but still.]

[Albert tenses when he sees what--who--is inside of the treasure chest, and he frowns at the girl inside before looking around. Was this because of the experiment? Or had she simply been gone and this was how the scientists decided to send her back?

Even as he's contemplating what to do, Kogoro chooses this moment to put his front paws up on lip of the treasure chest and sniff curious at Nu. Albert tries to shoo the little dog away so he can close the chest.]

[If Albert is planning to close the chest again, he might want to do so quickly. With ν-13 being a light sleeper anyway and Korogo sniffing at her like that, it's likely that she's not going to stay asleep for much longer.

...In fact, she's already starting to stir a little. It probably won't be much longer until she's awake, it seems.]

[It seems that Albert's efforts are having some effect; Kogoro keeps moving and squirming as he's shooed, until he finally relents and drops his paws from the lip of the chest.

However, a sigh of relief barely passes the man's lips before Kogoro has sprang up and into the treasure chest--with the lid thudding shut as a startled Albert lets go.

...

Caesar was going to kill him. He could just picture it.]

[And needless to say, that is more than enough to abruptly rouse the Murakumo from her slumber. It's pretty hard to miss both the lid suddenly thudding shut like that and having a dog leap into the chest without warning like that.]

Eh—? [...Okay. Why is she in what feels like a really cramped place, what was that noise just now, and why is there a dog here?

Give her a moment to actually process the situation and work out what to do. This is... incredibly confusing.]

[Kogoro snuffles loudly in the dark, first smelling the niches of the inside of the chest before turning his attention to Nu. He's quite curious.

Outside of the treasure chest, Albert is--for once--at a loss. He sits there and frowns to himself, debating, before taking a deep breath and opening the chest again. He opens up his mouth to snap at Kogoro--]

Shiro. Get out of there.

[Initially, ν-13 is content to simply stare at the dog, still not quite sure what to make of the creature. Why is there a dog in here, why does it seem curious about her and is it going to be hostile or not?

That thought train is derailed temporarily when Albert opens the chest again, however.]

...? [When he actually speaks up, she quickly turns to look in his direction...]

[...And the look that follows is probably best described as the closest equivalent to a nonverbal flat "what" she can muster.

Of all people to open the chest - and to own that dog, if what he said is any indication - it just had to be him, didn't it? Even if he looks a bit... odd today, to say the least.]

[Kogoro turns around in the chest as best he can without tripping all over the girl inside, again putting his paws up on the lid of the chest--this time to look at Albert. Albert frowns, wrapping an arm around the small dog and hauling him out before he can decide to drop back into the box.

...Once that is taken care of and Kogoro is secure under one arm, he glances back at Nu.] My apologies for my dog. [Even though it was not his dog.] Shiro can be very curious. [And his name was not Shiro.]
